25th October 2010 - Craig Gallen OpenNMS - Updated Release 1.0 projects from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1 update Release 1.0 to fix bug 0000493

  • This fixes a build problem caused by OpenEJB 3.1.3-SNAPSHOT being withdrawn by Apache and replaced by 3.1.1. The changes are tagged for each JOSIF project as as a new RELEASE_1_0_1 in the svn repository. The latest release 1.0.1 Project Creator is also now the default download on the source-forge file releases page. Read the bug description to see how to update any projects created with the previous project creator which have not been updated during this fix.

23 September 2010 - Craig Gallen OpenNMS Josif Development Tooling & Patterns Webinar

2nd September 2010 - Marc Flauw HP, Craig Gallen OpenNMS - Service Problem Management Interface Version 1.0.0 released!

  • Version 1.0.0 of the Service Problem Management Interface has been released for public review and download. This is the version of the specification which will be submitted to the TM Forum for final ratification.
  • A zip file containing the specification artifacts, documentation and release notes can be found under the JOSIF/Interfaces folder on the OpenOSS file releases page at
  • The Service Problem Management Interface project has been tagged at version 1.0.0 and is available from the subversion repository at
  • If you wish to build this it should be checked out into a separate Tigerstripe instance / workspace with the 1.0.0 versions of the plugins / profile installed. (i.e. not the 1.1.0 versions)
  • The SPM Trunk has now been updated to 1.1.0-SNAPSHOT. This will be used for completion of the RI and CTK projects. To update your trunk SPM workspace, you should do an 'svn update' on all the modules and do a 'mvn clean install', 'mvn eclipse:clean', 'mvn eclipse:eclipse' in the BaseProject. This should update your trunk SPM project to use the latest 1.1.0 versions of the Tigerstripe plugins. ( Note - You will also need to install these along with the 1.1 profile )

19th August 2010 - C Gallen OpenNMS - JOSIF Trunk updated to 1.1.0-SNAPSHOT

  • The JOSIF Trunk has been updated to 1.1.0-SNAPSHOT. This is now the development stream for release 1.1.0 of the JOSIF Framework.
  • The latest snapshot project creator for this stream (named like TIP_Project_Creator-1.1.0<TIMESTAMP>-standard.jar) can be found at:
  • Any existing projects wishing to use the latest features of JOSIF should update their build system to match match the configuration produced by the latest project creator.
  • Please note that the trunk of the Service problem Management Project project will continue to use Release 1.0.0 plug-ins until the first release of SPM is finalised in a few weeks time.

13th August 2010 - C Gallen OpenNMS - JOSIF 1.0.0 released!!!

  • The first official release of JOSIF has been finalised. The Project creator for this release can now be found on the Sourceforge project release page: http://sourceforge.net/projects/openoss/files/
  • Use the 1.0.0 version of the JOSIF Project Creator to update any projects to use the latest artifacts. (See also Updating Project Versions)
  • The individual components of this release are tagged RELEASE_1_0_0 in subversion - and if you want to check out the release artifacts you should check out the contents of each of the RELEASE_1_0_0 tags into a new work space.
  • Trunk is being updated to release 1.1.0 and all of the Tigertripe generators will be renamed accordingly. To continue to work in Trunk You should remove the old generators and profile and install the new ones before attempting a build. See the notes at Updating Project Versions. (Note that you may also have to recreate the workspace by deleting the .metadata folder if Tigertripe starts giving strange errors).
  • NOTE The trunk version of the Service Problem Management project is still at RELEASE_1_0_0-SNAPSHOT but has been updated to reference the plugins in RELEASE_1_0_0 NOT the trunk 1.1.0 plugins. This is an interim situation until SPM is approved for release. Make sure you DO NOT try to work on Service Problem Management using the Release 1.1 plugins. (We may need to think about a branching strategy for this)

6th August 2010 - C Gallen OpenNMS - JOSIF 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT released

  • JOSIF release 0.3.0-SNAPSHOT has been tagged the subversion trunk is now updated to release 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT. This is the final candidate for the first official release of JOSIF, Release 1.0.0. The project creator for this release can be found at:
  • Any existing projects wishing to use the latest features of JOSIF should update their build system to match match the configuration produced by the latest project creator.

11th November 2009 - C Gallen OpenNMS - Important: Updated Subversion Trunk release numbering to 0.3.0

  • Following a slight delay, the contents of the subversion trunk projects have all been renumbered according to the agreement made after release 0.0.2 was tagged. The maven modules for the next Framework release will be numbered 0.3.x. All of the Tigerstripe artifacts; tigerstripe.xml, profiles, plugins, model files etc. will now have the version number 0.3 for the duration of this release. This avoids updating tigerstripe configurations in model projects as newer point versions of the artifacts are made available.
  • The majority of the generated modules are now available as artifacts in maven. The maven projects will have the additional point release 0.3.x where x ranges from 0-n to indicate the latest release. The Framework test and SPM projects in subversion trunk have been updated to use the new numbering and tested with an empty local .m2 repository.
  • Releases of all the dependency artifacts have been uploaded to maven so new projects can download a module if it has not been built locally. To upgrade existing projects you should:
    • a) update all existing projects to the latest version (svn up).
    • b) Undeploy all current tigerstripe plugins and profiles from eclipse
    • c) Deploy the latest tigestripe plugins and profiles which will have the new numbering (0.3 versions). You can build the plugins manually or if you
run mvn install on an updated interface project, the latest plugins will be downloaded into the <project name&gtModel/TigerstripePlugins folder.
  • The details of the release numbering and content of release 0.3.0 modules can be found in the spreadsheet TIP_Releases.xls

21st October 2009 - C gallen OpenNMS - Webinar

  • The TM forum hosted a webinar on 21 October 2009 where an overview of the Implementation project was provided by Craig Gallen. 44 people attended the presentation. A Recording of the webinar will be made available by the TM Forum. The presentation slides are also available at Presentations and White Papers.

12th October 2009 - C Gallen OpenNMS - Release 0.0.2 tagged and released

  • Release 0.0.2 has been tagged and tested. The core components are loaded into the maven repo and available for download by projects created from the project creator.
  • The 0.0.2 project creator can be downloaded from TIP_Project_Creator-standard.jar
  • The details of the release numbering and content of release 0.0.2 modules can be found in the spreadsheet TIP_Releases.xls. This illustrates that the first order of business for the next releases will be to align the version numbering across artefacts!
  • Note - no work has yet been done to update the release numbering of trunk. However, as artifacts have changed, you should update your trunk projects and run mvn eclipse:clean followed by eclipse:eclipse in the 'BaseProjects' to ensure Eclipse is picking up the latest modules on it's classpath.

4th September 2009 - M Flauw HP

25th August 2009 - M Flauw HP

  • Update SPM Framework Test1 and Test2 to use the Common Model
  • Created a Dependencies project for Framework Test1

24th August 2009 - C Gallen OpenNMS

  • Fixed bug 0000379: Maven site repeatedly builds TIP Models - you should always use mvn clean install to ensure new model is built. mvn install will build without regenerating the model
  • Fixed bug 0000383: Eclipse tries to verify WSDL in model projects. Using mvn eclipse:eclipse in base projects will now set up your wst preferences to not attempt a verification of WSDL in the tigerstripe.gen directory. This verification would always fail because the dependencies from the Internal model are not included.

  • Added new features to TIP_SOAP Generator. See TIP_Soap_Generator
  • Updated SPM, TIP_Fmk_Test1 TIP_Fmk_Test2 and TIP_project_Creator to reference TIP_Generators_Internal_Model and TIP_Common Model (NOTE: The TIP_Common_Model is only downloaded to TigerstripeGenerators folder in each of the Model subprojects where it can be referenced if needed. However references to the TIP_Common_Model have not been added to the tigerstripe.xml for these projects).

15th August 2009 - C Gallen OpenNMS

  • Deployed maven web sites for TIP_Generators_Internal_Model and TIP_Common Model as part of the TIP_Framework maven generated documentation. See JOSIF Framework

  • The MantisBT bug tracker on the Sourceforge OpenOSS site is now active. This will be used for managing roadmap features and bugs in present releases. See OpenOSS MantisBT bug tracker. Note we are no longer planning to use Trac as it couldn't manage multiple versions of sub-projects.
  • Note OpenOSS Developers need to get accounts on MantisBT. To do so log into your Sourceforge account and navigate to Bug Tracker. This should create you an initial account which can then have permissions modified by the administrator. The bug tracker documentation is available at http://www.mantisbt.org/manual/
  • Changed all project sites and pom.xml to reference MantisBT as bug tracker.
